Description

poly(2-3)glucose™ T1-25 has a lower critical solution temperature of 27 C in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.1. It is packaged as 0.25 grams of lyophilized, pyrogen free, sterile polymer in 10 ml serum bottle. Add media or buffer directly to the bottle and chill overnight to make stock polymer solution. There is space to dilute down to a 2% solution. Polymer T1-25 is recommended for encapsulation because it is a liquid in an air conditioned lab and, after water in oil emulsification, it rapidly forms robust capsules around suspended cells at 37 C. Polymers T1-25, T1-30, and T1-35 may be mixed to obtain customized gel temperatures in the range 25 to 35 C, or to accommodate transition temperature shifts in solutions other than PBS.
